Story behind my topic

Second hand smoke is a very troubling thing. According to The American Cancer Society, about 3,400 people die per year from lung cancer caused by second hand smoke. Pregnant women, who are exposed to this smoke, are at high risk for low birth-weight babies. Also, the severity and number of asthma attacks have nearly quintupled in kids that have asthma. Chest discomfort and decreased lung function are the two things that are affecting teen's way of life. They have to be less active because it is harder for them to breathe then it was before. Who would have known that I would be one of those teens that had to change. Every day is a battle to breathe. Everyone in my family smokes around me and I can't do anything to stop them. When they start smoking, I feel my lungs slowly closing. This smoke is not only affecting my father and sister, it is also hurting me.
